Plot Summary :
Will and Elizabeth are confronted by Lord Cutler Beckett, head of the East India Trading Company on the day of their wedding. Beckett has arrest warrants for both for helping Captain Jack Sparrow to escape execution, Former Commodore Norrington is also wanted for not pursuing Sparrow for a day, however Norrington had resigned from the British Royal Navy months prior and disappeared. Elizabeth is locked up in Prison, Beckett asks Will to recover Jack's compass in exchange for Letters of Marque which will make Sparrow a British Privateer and grant Will and Elizabeth a pardon. Will leaves after seeing Elizabeth, Jack is visited by Will's father Bootstrap Bill Turner, who tells him that it time to join the crew of Davy Jones, who raised the Black Pearl after it was sunk thirteen years ago for Jack as part of a deal. Jack refuses to join Jones, Bootstrap tells him that Davy's Pet, will drag him to Davy Jones' Locker otherwise.



Elizabeth is freed by her father while he is captured Elizabeth not harmed goes to find Sparrow and Turner, steals the Letters of Marque off Beckett after a confrontation. Will finds the Black Pearl on Pelegosto where the Pelegosto's worship Jack as a god and plan to kill him. Jack, Will, Mr Gibbs remnants of the crew get back to the ship, joined by Pintel and Ragetti. They go to the voodoo priestess Tia Dalma, who tells them that Davy Jones cut his own heart out and put it in the Dead Man's Chest, keeping the key to it with him at all times. Dalma gives Jack the location of Jones's ship, The Flying Dutchman, and a jar of dirt as defense since Jones cannot step on land for a decade. Will is captured onboard the Dutchman, prompting Davy Jones to confront Jack and orders Jack to bring him one-hundred souls in three days or be killed or serve aboard the Dutchman. Will is kept on the Dutchman where he reunites with his father, Bootstrap informs Will to leave the ship since he had not agreed to serve onboard it for a century like everyone else.

Jack goes to Tortuga, while hiring crew he meets Norrington who reveals to Gibbs he lost his job while pursuing Jack through a hurricane. Jack sees Elizabeth who shows Sparrow the stolen Letters of Marque, Meanwhile In his office Beckett acquires Governor Swann's support for the Company in exchange for the safety ofhis daughter

Will steals the key off Jones, Bootstrap helps Will escape the ship and he gets on a British ship but Jones gets his Pet, the Kraken to destroy it. After Jones realizes that Jack hopes to steal his heart so he sets off to Isla Cruces and Will who escaped the Kraken is able to sneak back on the Dutchman.

Jack with his compass and Elizabeth's help finds the location of the chest which leads to a three-way duel after Will arrives Jack, Will and Norrington fight it out because they want the heart for each other, Elizabeth, Pintel and Ragetti fight Jones's men who arrived to get the chest. Jack hides Jones's heart in the jar of dirt. Norrington realises what Jack has done, hides the heart and the Letters of Marque in his coat and runs with the empty chest to distract Jones's men, giving the chest back to them.

The Dutchman confronts the Pearl, but the Pearl escapes the Dutchman. Jones calls the Kraken, which kills most of the Pearl's crew until Jack wounds it by shooting a net of explosives. Jack is hesitant to abandon his ship, so Elizabeth chains him to the mast by kissing him, which Will sees. Jack breaks free and takes on the Kraken as it drags him and the Pearl to the Locker. Norrington gives the Letters of Marque and Jones' heart to Beckett. Will, Elizabeth, Gibbs and the other crewmen return to Dalma's home and they decide to rescue Jack from the Locker, Dalma mentions that will they require a Captain who knows those waters, Captain Barbossa resurrected greets everyone.

Reception : The film got high praise from critics and audience with 54% fresh rating in Rotten Tomatoes and 7.3 in IMDB.
